Jezamine + Mark: History in the Making at Lakewood Heritage Center

In time, Jez decided to ask Mark to attend an exclusive concert to see One Republic. He said yes. They enjoyed free swag, the music, and dancing the night away with the select 300 other attendees.

The Proposal

On March 3, 2018, Mark took the opportunity to turn a casual ski vacation with Jez into a dream day. After shredding at Beaver Creek, Arrowhead and Bachelor’s Gulch, they found themselves hungry and decided to eat at Blue Moose Pizza. Jez looked up from deliberating her choices on the menu and saw Mark not in his chair, but down on one knee proposing.

She said yes!

According to Jez: “It was a gorgeous bluebird day, the type that seems to stretch on forever. That day will forever be etched in our memories.”

The Celebration

Jez and Mark enjoyed a warm summer wedding day at the Lakewood Heritage Center on Saturday, August 3, 2019, celebrating with 50 of their closest friends and family members. Many family members traveled from afar including from out East and the Kansas City area.

Inspired by a 1920s meets French country wedding theme, the couple incorporated several DIY touches to make their dream wedding complete. The bride used a beautiful color scheme of maroon, sunflower yellow, sage green, and peach along with textures of burlap to create an elegant, yet laid-back look.

Highlights of the day included the flower girls going back to the beginning of the aisle to drop the flower petals they remembered, Jez’s laughter following the flower girl scenario, a bagpipe music-filled recessional, a make-your-own taco bar, delectable cupcakes, and of course, dancing!

Final Words

It’s impressive to see the loving thought and details put into a DIY wedding like this! Jez and team knocked themselves out and really put together a beautiful and memorable experience for everyone.

I wish Jez and Mark along with their families and friends much happiness and joy in the future. I know you will be counting stars.
