Their Story

Jill and Torval met online and bonded over their love for the outdoors, often going on hikes together. Last summer, during a family event in Cape Cod, Torval proposed to Jill, adding a new chapter to their love story.

The Ceremony

The couple chose the non-denominational Historic Morrison Church constructed in 1885 as the site of their ceremony. This Little White Church near the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado provided an intimate space with a vintage charm.

Guests enjoyed sitting outside on benches under the shade trees before and after the service. The pews filled up quickly with the 60 guests attending. Every guest received a rose upon entering as a special thank you for being a part of the day.

To celebrate the coming together of their families, Jill & Torval incorporated an extended unity candle celebration with their children and grandchildren taking part.

After the ceremony, Jill and Torval took advantage of the church’s tower, tolling the bells after their wedding ceremony as part of their grand exit.

Details

The bride selected pink with earth tones as her color palette for the day. From the pink roses at the church to the napkins on the table later in the day at The Fort, the hue gave a subtle pop of color to the overall earthy vibe.

A bubble machine set a fun mood and kept the couple’s grandchildren entertained.

Rather than a guest book, the couple asked everyone attending to sign a beautiful print of an aspen tree.

The couple also gave out seed packets to guests to take home in commemoration of the day.

The Reception

In addition to a historic ceremony site, the newlyweds celebrated a dinner at The Fort which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Known for being a full-sized adobe replica of Colorado’s first fur-trading post Bent’s Old Fort it also serves up some amazing cuisine which the guests enjoyed.

They also set up the DJ for the evening on The Fort’s newly remodeled helicopter pad. From this spot, you can see views of downtown Denver and the foothills. Guests enjoyed dancing the night away under the stars.

Final Words

Jill and Torval, it’s beautiful to see you and your extended families coming together on your special day. I’m honored to have captured your next chapter in life and wish you many adventures together. May your lives be filled with love, good vibes, and the zen of knowing you’ve found that special person to make the journey all the more meaningful. Namaste!
