When Jenny and Aaron envisioned their wedding day, they knew it had to reflect their unique love story and shared passions. On a sunny August day, with temperatures soaring into the upper 90s, over 100 of their closest friends and family gathered at The Fort in Morrison, Colorado to witness and celebrate their union.

A Love Story Born from Rock and Radio

Jenny first laid eyes on Aaron at a radio station event where he worked as a DJ. His stage presence at the event caught Jenny’s eye and she knew she had to meet him. She planned to attend the next station event where they finally met. After chatting awhile, they discovered they both held tickets for an upcoming concert and decided to connect at the event. Sitting nearby each other, they engaged in conversation between songs. At the end of the evening, they exchanged phone numbers and parted with a sweet peck. The rest, as they say, is history.

The Perfect Venue: The Fort

As Colorado natives, Jenny and Aaron cherish the natural beauty of their home state. They chose The Fort as their wedding venue for its unique charm, historical significance, and stunning outdoor setting. The location’s remodeled helicopter pad would be a picturesque background for their ceremony, surrounded by rock formations and beautiful views of Denver and the foothills.

A Celebration of Love and Simplicity

True to their style, Jenny and Aaron opted for minimalistic decor inspired by nature. Their wedding colors of pale pink/peach, white and off-white beautifully complemented the surroundings. Flowers in bud vases adorned the table, creating an elegant, yet understated look that emphasized simplicity and natural beauty.

The reception, held on the covered outdoor patio, featured a mix of vegetarian and meat options served buffet-style. This setup encouraged guests to mingle and interact, making the celebration engaging. The unique food offerings and casual atmosphere truly reflected this couple’s desire for an elegant, but fun, no-fuss party.

Special Moments and Select Traditions

Like most modern couples, Jenny and Aaron selectively chose traditions and made up some of their own on their day. The bride enjoyed getting ready with the help of her sister Joan and relaxed in the cool comfort of Bent’s Quarters before the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the couple captured a few beautiful family and couple’s portraits around The Fort. They then retreated to the Bent’s Quarters room for a private moment with wine and a charcuterie plate, savoring the intimacy amidst the day’s excitement. They also signed their wedding license with Jenny’s parents serving as official witnesses.

The reception kicked off with The Fort’s Tomahawk Champagne Toast when a staff member opened a bottle ceremoniously by using an axe to pop off the cork. After the excitement, Aaron relayed a message of gratitude to everyone present with a heartfelt thank you speech. Next up, were personal toasts made by Jenny’s mom Sharon, followed by her sisters Karin and Joan.

Following dinner, the couple cut their cake on a table set to take advantage of The Fort’s vistas. After enjoying bites of the first slice of white cake with lemony frosting, Jenny and Aaron returned to the patio for their first dance. Dan Hardee, a well-known media professional and the Brand Manager and Afternoon Personality on 99.5 The Mountain provided the perfect soundtrack for the evening, ensuring everyone had a fantastic time on the dance floor.

A Day to Remember

Jenny and Aaron’s wedding was a true reflection of their personalities–fun, loving, and authentically them. They enjoyed seeing all of their loved ones come together to celebrate.

Their wedding at The Fort was a beautiful testament to their love for each other and their shared passion for the natural beauty and history of Colorado. It was a day filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories, marking the beginning of their new journey together. Cheers!
